Pay Day Loan

The pay day loan has certainly gotten its share of bad press in the last year or so. According to one, widespread line of thinking, it is simply another way that “predatory lenders” take advantage of poor, ignorant working people. Proponents counter that it is one of the few kinds of loans that people with bad credit can get. What’s the real story?

In this case, the reality is somewhere in the middle, although the term “predatory lender” is, on its face, pejorative. Consumer reporters and progressive legislators will argue that the pay day loan has extremely high interest, despite the fact that most states now control interest rates for banks and other financial institutions. Again, proponents counter, correctly, that the higher interest rates offset the amount of bad debt attributable to non-payers. Read More…

Loan Application

Is it time for that complete physical with your doctor? The one you dread because the Doc is going to check you EVERYWHERE? I hate to be the one to tell you this but applying for a loan can seem very similar. You probably will be able to keep your pants on for the loan application but it may not exactly feel that way. This was my attitude after applying for my first prequalification for a mortgage. I don’t have anything to be ashamed of under my financial clothes but I generally feel it’s my business and no one else’s. It turns out the people who were going to be willing to loan me a few hundred thousand dollars felt the opposite. Very strongly in fact and in retrospect I understand that. It still didn’t make the process any easier.

Sticking with the Doctor analogy, lenders need to get a light on every nook and cranny of your financial body. It’s nothing personal and you probably don’t have anything they haven’t seen hundreds of times before so get over it. Read More…

Fast Cash

“Fast Cash” might sound like someone’s fondest wish, but really it’s a short-term, unsecured loan, aimed at those who need immediate funds to cover unexpected costs. Other common names for fast cash advances are “Check Loans,” “Payroll Advances,” “Payday Advances,” “Cash Now Advances,” or “Quick Cash Advances.” But no matter what you call it, the process is the same: borrowers fill out an application detailing some basic personal, financial and employment information, provide the lender with a post-dated check to be cashed when their next paycheck arrives, and lender hands over the cash advance—in most cases within twenty-four hours.

What makes fast cash attractive to many borrowers is the ease with which it can be obtained. A borrower can either go to a check casher or apply online for a fast cash advance, fill out the application, write the post dated check, and leave with cash in hand. As it is an unsecured loan, there are no background or credit checks required. The funds can also be deposited directly in (and later repaid from,) a borrower’s bank account, meaning that you only have to go as far as your computer to obtain the fast cash you need. If you know you are short on rent, or have a sudden expense that must be covered immediately, a fast cash advance will help you out of a tight spot. Read More…

Fast Loans

Fast loans are most often known as payday loans. There are, however, personal loans and business loans that are called “Fast Loans,” but when most people refer to fast loans they are referring to payday loans.

A payday loan or fast loan is a form of loan that borrows against your upcoming paycheck. When you apply for a fast loan, you write a personal check to the lender for the amount of the loan. In addition, you are usually charged a fee. The personal check, comprised of both the loan amount and the fee, is held until your next payday. The money can be deposited directly into your bank account in a matter of hours, or they can put the cash directly into your hand. Either way, you can get your loan fast. Read More…

Check Cashing

For many of us, payday is the highlight of our week. The sun shines a bit brighter. The birds sing. The air has never tasted so sweet. It’s like the spring in garnering-a-paycheck terms. Collection Agency

If you’ve ever been tragically late for a credit card payment you understand the woes of being sent to a collection agency. Being sent to the collection agency is usually the creditors last resort to getting the money owed to them back. Collection agency people are annoying and purposefully so. They start digging in order to get ahold of you in any way possible. So your creepy aunt Elda may receive a call saying that you’re a total loser-bum because you do not pay your bills.

At any rate, the collection agency works as an agent of the creditor in most cases and they get paid a percentage of what they can shake out of you. Due to this fact they never give up because, frankly, they want to get paid, and who can blame them? They gave you the money to pay for things that you wanted and then you backed out on paying them. Cash Loans

Payday cash advances are also known as cash loans. You have probably seen them advertised on television asking you to come to them if you are in dire need of cash quickly. No matter what your reasoning is, seeking out a cash loan is pretty insane because of the way they work. You might as well begin selling pints of your blood to the local blood bank because you’re about to get drained.

Cash loans are scary, typically because of the incredible interest rate associated with them. On average, an applicant asks for and is loaned cash usually in the amount of $100 to $1,500 promising to pay back the cash loan in full at the time of the next paycheck, which is usually a two week period. The finance charges associated with the cash loan may vary, but is usually within $15 to $30 per $100 of the cash loan. That is translated into interest rates that are anywhere from 390 to 780 percent of the initial amount borrowed. If you were to look at this rate honestly, you’d be better off selling everything you do not need in a garage sale rather than pay a up to 800 percent interest for some cash. Read More…
